Peter Head's legendary reputation as one of Australia's finest piano-bar entertainers is well deserved. He has earnt comparisons with artists such as Randy Newman, Tom Waits, Ray Charles and Dr. John.
"King Of The Cross", Peter's acclaimed CD of original compositions, is the culmination of over 20 years spent living and working around the top nightclubs of Kings Cross. He has also released the "Round and Round" e.p, a collaboration with AC/DC's Bon Scott that has seen him win fans from Georgia to Germany.
The longevity of his career is testament to his enduring popularity and has seen him excel in most musical genres - jazz, blues, rock'n'roll, cabaret, r & b, funk, country, soul, reggae and latin. His extensive repertoire reflects this diversity.
Peter is highly regarded for his talent, versatility, showmanship and professionalism throughout the music industry and has often used his skills as musical director. Peter's 70's band, Headband , played support to the Rolling Stones and Elton John amongst many others, and their album is now a valuable collectors item.
He has worked and often recorded with a who's who of Australian talent in theatres, concerts, clubs, festivals, bars, hotels and studios. Peter has enjoyed successful sojourns in New York, London, Europe and Asia as well as performing at most of Australia's premier venues (including the Basement, Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Festival Centre).
